She really is a
fairy godmother agent!

On Thursday, September 7, my stellar agent Rachelle Gardner sent me a tweet asking me to give her a call. So once my Little Darlings left for the day, I took a deep breath and called her. I love talking with Rachelle on the phone because she’s such an encourager. But I have to admit I was afraid she had bad news to share.

Two and a half weeks prior, she submitted my second novel to my editor Melissa Endlich of Love Inspired. I had to put the submission out of my head because my mom was facing heart surgery. In fact, she was recuperating at our house when I returned Rachelle’s phone call.

Rachelle asked if I would like to change my status from debut author to multipublished author! Melissa offered a contract for my second novel!


Lakeside Family will be released in August 2012 by Love Inspired.

I didn’t sob in Rachelle’s ear this time, but I was very excited. We discussed terms, then I floated for the rest of the evening.

Lakeside Family is the story of Josie Peretti and Nick Brennan–Nick is the last man Josie ever wants to see again, but he’s the only one who can save her daughter’s life.

Lakeside Reunion readers will meet Josie when they read about Lindsey and Stephen.
