New Beginnings

by | Uncategorized

New Beginnings was the theme for the ACFW conference I attended this past September in Dallas, Texas. It wasn’t only a writers conference, but also a spiritual retreat. ACFW stands for American Christian Fiction Writers and the organization is made up of published and unpublished writers, editors, agents and other publishing personnal who share the love of writing and the love of Jesus.

New Beginnings could be the theme for my life, as well. In August, God stretched me once again out of my comfort zone to return to school. I haven’t been in school in over 18 years, but I was presented with a terrific opportunity and with His blessing, I’m working toward my Early Childhood Education degree.

New Beginnings is significant in my writing, as well. I’ve dreamed of being a writer since I was sixteen, but I’ve been seriously pursuing my craft for the past six years. I’ve always written roomance novels in third person past tense. This year, I’ve decided to try something new. I’m working on a women’s fiction novel, Queen of the Shrinking Violets, that is written in first person present tense. It’s the first in a series of five novels and I must say I’m loving it!!

Finally, New Beginnings represents my new website. I’m still working on getting my domain name transferred, but in the meantime, my new site represents a little about me and what I do. The site is still a work in progress, sort of like its creator, but it’s functionable for now.
