I’m published!
One of my flash fiction stories, Let It Shine, is published in this month’s edition of Afictionado, an e-zine put out monthly by my writing group, American Christian Fiction Writers. ACFW, the premiere organization for Christian fiction, has over 1000 members, including published and unpublished writers, editors, agents, and other publishing professionals. You can read my story by clicking here.
Let It Shine was written for the Clarity of Night’s Midnight Road short fiction blog contest, but when the editors of Afictionado revealed the new format of the e-zine at our national conference and mentioned the e-zine would now include flash fiction, I e-mailed Jason, Clarity of Night‘s owner, and asked him to remove my posts from his site. I submitted to Afictionado and now I get to see my writing in print. 🙂
None of this would’ve happened if it wasn’t for my dear friend Bhaswati Ghosh. Her encouragement enabled me to challenge myself to write an entry for the contest. Let me tell you, writing a complete story in 250 words or less is quite a challenge for a verbose writer like myself. I have a tendency to ramble. 🙂 I encourage you to visit her site, her writing blog, and her food blog.
This is such happy news, Lisa! I love your writing and Let It Shine was no exception. It sure deserves recognition. I am so glad for you!
May this be the first of many more. -:)
